What is Hobby?
Hobby is an area of interest of a person where that person willingly learns a particular skill
or skills and continues to improve by repeated efforts.
Why Hobby Projects!! 🎓
In many professional courses (like Engineering), it is compulsory for students to prepare a project in final year of Diploma or Degree to complete their course. But the majority of students doesn't realize that without previous experience of a project, they are destined to face problems in making their final year projects. Since time is limited in final year, so maximum students try to avoid making projects by themselves.
Engineering graduates or diploma students in India face such problems due to lack of awareness.
In simple words: A person who knows how to ride a bicycle have higher chances to learn riding a motorcycle in less time as compared to a person who never learned to ride a bicycle.
So the main issue is that if not guided or if not motivated to learn practicing projects (as their interest) in starting years of college, majority of students will surely perform poorly in final years or later in their jobs.
So what is the solution?
As per my own experience of being an Engineering graduate and with my teaching experience till now, I surely recommend students to start learning "How to make a project" as soon as they enter second year of their diploma or graduation course. Students will face problem in the beginning but will have plenty of time to deal with the issues. This will really help students to create a strong practical knowledge base for their final year projects, interviews, competitions and job.
The Rewards of Hobby Projects: 🏆
Once students have worked on 2-3 hobby projects before final year projects they are sure to have: better hardware skills, design capabilities, problem solving approach, better presentation capabilities, higher confidence, a spark to compete, ability to recover after failure and learn from it, get better job, help in upgrading life of other people and much more.
In short, hard work will pay in the long run to the students.
"So prepare yourself and start your first Hobby project as soon as possible."
Good luck!!!
